Much has been written about the restoration of the apostolic #ministry in the last 15 years.
Regardless of what people think about the so-called New Apostolic Reformation‚ the restoration of the fullness of the fivefold ministry as outlined by the apostle Paul in the Epistle to Ephesians 4:11 has been set in motion and there’s nothing the religious system can do to stop it.
Well‚ actually that’s not true. The religious system can do many things to water it down‚ stop it‚ abort it‚ mix in with it‚ etc. Here’s a prophetic warning I received few years ago about what the religious system is about and how it operates.
Thankfully‚ the religious system hasn’t given me much‚ which is why it can’t take much away from me. At this point in time the most important thing for all true God-lovers might be: 1) to purge themselves completely from all traces and remains of the religious spirit in their lives 2) Identify the true Body of Christ‚ the people‚ the #prophetic company they are meant to connect with under the headship of Christ.
In this regard‚ the apostolate the Lord has entrusted me with‚ will continue to pursue what the Lord has revealed and emphasized as important.
I submit‚ in order of importance this series of #teaching for the purpose of bringing clarity.
The question I will try to address is: what would be the objectives of a genuine apostleship in this time and hour?
There are many copycats out there‚ so let me say this first: I have never heard this preached and taught anywhere‚ this is what I have received from the Lord and I am giving it as it has been received.
I would say the number one objective of a genuine apostolate under the Headship of Christ would be to establish Divine Order – Oneness of Heaven and Earth.
This has to do with the headship of Christ:
- In the natural family
- In the body of Christ
The essence of the redemption of Jesus Christ is the reconciliation of Heaven and Earth.
The essence of life under God as defined by Moses‚ is life under open Heaven. Open Heaven doesn’t mean that the Earth will become paradise one day. Every attempt by men to turn the Earth into Paradise‚ has resulted in bloodshed‚ Marxism and Communism being one of the latest examples. However‚ Islam and even some misguided Christian denominations through the ages have attempted to create the impossible.
At the time of the Fall of Man‚ the Earth became infected with the cancer of sin and death (Rom. 5:1’). All of Creation is groaning (a spiritual metaphor) waiting for to be delivered‚ i.e. waiting for the return of the King of Kings and the final consummation of all redemption – not only in spirit‚ but also in the visible realm.
Jesus came to reconcile all things in Heaven and Earth through the cross. (Col. 1:20)
It is possible now therefore to live under open Heaven in the midst of our enemies. (Psalm 110:2‚ 1 Cor. 15:24-26)
Open Heaven is not an utopia. It’s a real promise‚ in most real terms from the Lord for all who come into covenantal relationship with Him.
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse‚ that there May be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test‚ says the LORD of hosts‚ if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. (Mal. 3:10)
The promise of Open Heaven is for the individual believer‚ the natural family‚ the Body of Christ and it can extend to whole cities and nations. The ministry of an apostle of Jesus Christ‚ one sent by Him‚ is concerned with establishing such divine order that will align people and the earth realm with Jesus Christ and His Kingdom in such a way‚ so that blessing is released on the earth.
“…your kingdom come‚ your will be done‚ on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
Conventional religious understanding of “order” stops short of receiving (from God) or giving (to others) the full picture of what divine order is about.
The order of the Spirit is not the order of man. Paul had to bring new understanding about order based not on the conventional religious institution‚ but based on the #Government (Order) of Jesus.
1 Cor. 11:3 establishes that Jesus is the head of every man and the man to the woman‚ in the context of marriage. Pastors and ministers are not the spiritual head of anyone‚ at least not according to the Bible. There’s nothing in the Old or the New Testament that calls anyone the head of anything‚ except:
- Jesus directly over every man.
- Jesus directly to apostles and prophets on whom the church is built.
- Jesus over the Body of Christ as a whole.
The only time any person has been called a head over anything is the husband to the wife‚ provided that the husband is under the headship of Christ.
In Acts 14:2’ it says that Paul and Barnabas appointed elders to the newly formed churches in Asia Minor.
And when they had appointed elders for them in every church‚ with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
This was a way of setting things in order. Obviously‚ Paul and Barnabas‚ both by virtue of seniority as well as by the grace of God‚ had the authority to select elders‚ local overseers of the newly formed bodies of believers‚ lay hands on these elders and establish order in the body.
This didn’t make Paul and Barnabas “heads” over these elders and churches. Jesus is The Head of the Body of Christ‚ including the local body. However‚ the apostle and his companion prophet did have the authority (under Christ)‚ to set things in order and oversee the work.
It’s also very clear from Paul’s Epistles to Timothy and Titus that Paul had an ongoing relationship with Timothy and Titus (and perhaps other spiritual sons) and remained as an overseer of the work for years. He had access‚ the liberty to hear from the Lord and give revelation‚ instruction and teaching‚ which is the reason now we have these precious revelations.
The end result of any work done in terms of preaching‚ organizing a community of believers and setting it up to be sustainable‚ has to be first and foremost in such a way that the body of believers will be a prophetic body and will hold on to the flow from Jesus’ Throne‚ i.e. the Life-giving Spirit of God‚ which alone can set people free.
The temptation is great for any body of people to get busy in building its own Tower of Babel in an attempt to “reach God”. The truth is‚ God doesn’t need our help. All he wants is broken people dependent on His Spirit.
The apostle Paul rebukes the believers in Galatia for having forsaken their beginnings and having turned to the pursuit of godliness in their own power. As a result‚ the spiritual climate had become hostile to the Spirit of God‚ spiritual blindness had engulfed the people and Paul tried to shake them up with a very stern message as seen in the Book of Galatians.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you‚ let him be accursed. (Gal. 1:6)
O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. (Gal. 3:1)
The religious spirit and the systems that it builds give the controls over to our carnal nature. But we can never bring life out of death‚ good out of evil. Our carnal nature‚ mind and soul cannot produce life.
When Heaven is open‚ there are open eyes‚ open hearts‚ open hands and open minds. This is the environment in which God loves to come in and do his own thing.
This is what I have dedicated my life to – secure a perimeter for Him and step out of the way and let Him be God! This to me is the essence of the apostolic ministry!
